Riley was the first person Tony brought onto the show. Riley responded to a post on the GamerCast Network forums (home of the Video Game Show) which called for writers for the now-defunct He was part of the unaired episodes from fall 2008 - what he refers to as the "old school show." He edited some of the early episodes from 2009, though every episode since has been edited by Tony.

Riley lives in Ohio and grew up during the Atari era. He is jokingly referred to as the "old guy." He previously wrote for Uncle Gamer (now Talking About Games), and he founded the Average Geeks website in late 2012.
